Athena
is the premier organization for executive women in the San Diego life
sciences, technology, healthcare and business communities. Personal
and professional growth is fostered through unique educational and motivational
programs that address key issues facing the high-tech, life-science
and healthcare industries. Athena San Diego also provides professional
and social networking opportunities that contribute to the vitality
of women’s roles in business and nurtures the next generation of women
executives. Each year 5 female high school seniors are selected from
hundreds of top applicants for this very prestigious scholarship award.
Outstanding applicants are well rounded young women who demonstrate
academic excellence, leadership in organizations, and community involvement.
Lauren was interviewed by Rory Devine, a news anchorwoman from KNBC
7/39, on the stage in front of almost 1,000 well respected scientists
and top executives in the community. In addition to the college scholarship,
Lauren received a brand new Sony laptop computer which is also a blu-ray
DVD player. |
Lauren
Wong, the SFCS Valedictorian, is a Lifer at Santa Fe, having attended
K-12 with perfect attendance. Wong applied to Stanford, Princeton, USC,
UC Berkeley, UCSD, Claremont McKenna, Pitzer and UCLA. She will be attending
UCLA in the fall majoring in Neuroscience. |
